P52uesday WEEK 11

Back again (on the right day!) for another week of P52, our photo-a-week-for-a-year project. You can read all about the series and self-imposed challenge here.

Here we go with week 11:

Depressing, ominous, shadow-y photo? I THINK NOT! This photo is a darn cause for celebration! 

Because...

there is no snow left on our deck!!! We can see wood and grass and deck rails. 

This, my friends, is fantastically exciting when you live in a climate of six-month-winters! 

It's kind of like winter winter winter winter winter winter...springsummerfall. So we're heading into springsummerfall! Woohoo!

We picked up a tin of fresh coffee beans over the weekend - to use in our new grinder (a great Christmas gift!) and gave it a whirl!

I feel like a barista. 

Juno is trying to eat the grinder.

Our house smells like Starbucks!

5 weeks of P52uesday all in January? It's a long month!

Welcome back. Here we go with week 5:

Still trying to cancel our home phone (with a certain Canadian telecommunications monopoly king) - 5 months after moving.

Juno's here for moral support and to lend her enviable telephone manner. She keeps it real, people. "Bark bark, bbaarrkk". Roughly translated, she means, "Stop charging my Mom and Dad for services they stopped using when we moved...which was like 35 dog months ago."

Is anyone else excited for the GLEE MJ tribute tonight? Hold onto your sparkle glove, ladies and gentlemen, it's gonna' be big!

Dusting the coffee table meant putting the bowl of clementines on Juno's the couch. "For me, Mom?" No, Juno, not for you. Sleeping puppies and clementines - for me, quintessential January.

A Launch

So I mentioned back in August, that I'd be launching a photography series here on the blog come the new year.

It's the new year! So, here goes, folks...welcome to our first P52uesday:

It's one photo a week for a year (less cumbersome and dutiful than P365). And at the end of the year, we'll have a nice collage-y peek at 2012. I'm excited. Who's with me?

P52uesday WEEK 1

Our foyer (still!) decorated for the holidays. We can't bring ourselves to put the holiday decor away just yet!

I'm just over four months early, but be it resolved that I will commit to P52 in 2012.  Join me, won't you?

What is P52?  Well it's a less ambitious version of P365.  It's one photo a week for a year - less cumbersome and dutiful than P365.  It lets you off the hook a little bit.  No desperate photos of your microwave clock on your way up to bed so you have 'something to show' for Wednesday. 

I'll be back at New Year's with the official launch.  Something like '52 Tuesdays'?  I have some time to think about it ;)

Back again tomorrow with that bookshelf update and list of packing essentials I promised.

There is no snooze button on a dog who wants breakfast.  Goodnight everyone!
